For some Elysium spiritual successors in the former employee’s works, the controversy regarding the escape of the key groups behind the beloved role -playing game and the expansion is being canceled, you may have wondered what Studio Za/UM will do next. Yes, that answer is here. In a recent presentation organized for the press, ZA/UM revealed the first look about their next game. It is called C4 and it is about spies.
The presentation was led by Jim Ashilevi, the director of the director on the Elysium dance hall, and Siim “Kosmos” Sinamäe, a producer and writer for role -playing games, both serving as writers in this new game. Immediately the bat, Sinamäe did a clear thing: “This is not Disco Elysium 2, this is C4.” The writer continued to explain that ZA/UM has “spent three years to develop the world completely original, completely original, discovering a topic that each member of the Za/UM collective has been obsessed with: spy.”

While the presentation does not provide a view of anything in the game, a brief introduction for C4 has been displayed but mainly consisting of a London -speaking woman talking in a very difficult way, set up for some great art. The details of the story are also quite thin, but Ashilevi explained that “C4 is all about spying games, loyalty and betrayal. It is not 007, with his complex hero, Bond girls, devices.
This presentation is only one part, because ZA/UM is clearly appearing at GDC by the end of this month, where it will probably talk more about the game.
C4 is clearly the first project after the departure of dance designer Robert Kurvitz, writer Helen Hindere and artist Aleksander Rostov in 2021. Next is a series of cluttered legal battles, a documentary allegedly toxic to Kurvitz, and many different games. I want to find out if OG ZA/UM can overcome all that noise.
