A long -running zombie MMORPG that you can play in your Internet browser will stop working next week, after nearly 20 years of stealing boards and robbery. Urban Dead is closed for a new UK rules that threaten great fines for online services (including games) that do not follow rules of limitations of age and other guidelines. It seems that making the game comply with the law will be too many jobs for the solo web developer, who has kept the Revelation servers for so long.
“Sadly, Urban Dead will be closed on Friday, March 14, 2025, due to an upcoming change in the United Kingdom’s website,” the developer Kevan Davis said in a game post discovered by Gamesradar.
“Online safety law is valid later this month, applies to all social websites and gaming where users interact, and especially those who do not have a strong age limit. With the possibility that the fines have a serious company even for solo web projects like this, I am reluctant to conclude that it is not possible when I can continue to operate.”
Online safety laws have been passed by 2023 and takes effect this year. The British government said the law will make social media and seek companies “more responsible for the safety of users on their basis.”
“The most powerful protection measures in the law have been designed for children,” an explanation said. “The platforms will be required to prevent children from accessing harmful content and not suitable for age.”
But the law has been criticized as the ruler of a censorship by human rights groups such as open rights and big companies like Apple complained that it has consequences for encryption from start to finish. This was a bit messy, because Apple had an argument with the British government about a secret command that they were given the keys by the government to encrypt – but, look, none of these have nothing to zombie. Urban Dead seems to be just a mortgage property in a bigger legal argument between the British government and the company’s interests.
“Therefore, 19 years, 8 months and 11 days after the isolation start, Urban Dead will be closed. There is no big final. There is no final disaster. No EVAC helicopter. Be peaceful or last a part of Malton that you call home, and the game will be turned off at noon on March 14.”
Malton is the name of the big city you discover in the game. Basically, there are countless blocks of guns, fire stations, hospitals, commercial centers, pubs and other useful sources to pick up trash. You can go to the windows of any building to protect against the corpse. It was the only MMO I know that allowing players to play like zombies. The developer does not write down a restarter on the road. “If Urban Dead is revived or filmed in any way in the future,” Davis said on New Urban Dead News, “it will be published on this website.”
