Microsoft has developed a playable version of Quake 2 running on AI generation. “Game” does not currently run for more than two minutes, has a very low frame speed, does not respond and is full of fuzzy texture. But Microsoft Intelfensia is proud enough for the prototype they made it play online. Do you want to experience a novel of suffering? Come with me.
The Demo can play on Microsoft’s Copilot website, where they note that “Copilot can make mistakes”. It only works with keyboard controls and will remind you with a notification to turn up after two minutes to say that the demo has ended. You can reload the page to play back.
“In this real -time Tech demo, Copilot automatically creates a series of games inspired by the classic Quake II game,” read a game on a neighboring Microsoft website. “Every entry you activate the moment created by AI in the game, almost you are playing Quake II originally running on a traditional game tool.”
What really looks and feels like a lot of Staccato Strafing through a surreal shot of shooting levels is not completely incomplete in the 90s. The enemy sometimes appears and you have to shoot them some unknown times before they die, although sometimes it will seem to return. Approaching a wall and then back will lead to a resume TrimPy of the surrounding environment. It’s like playing a bad dream about Quake. It was like being trapped in John Carmack’s sad nightmares after a violent drunkenness of VR.
If you want to see it played, then marketing tycoon Geoff Keighley has tweeted a technological protest, because our sister website Eurogamer pointed out. It was not surprising, he did not receive a positive feedback from the followers, many of them worked in an industry where the job and livelihood were threatened by this technology.
The Demo version is provided by Microsoft’s Muse Tech, this is the result of the research departments of the giant company naughty to anyone so that it can help “game ideas”. Modify AI on Quake and its sequel is significant from an angle, because it is a quintessential shooter with specific rules for enemy meetings and level designs. The basic rules of the first modern angular shooter are established by these games.
However, as a fan of the long -lasting Quake map scene, I played this demo and felt something wavering between curiosity and disgust, and perhaps it was 90 % later. I prefer it when the “idea” is made by people who have a great ability to work, who have come together in recent years to create a legal revival.
