I have no nostalgia for the anime cartoon series. A few finally followed after school people insisted on their greatness was mainly terrible, and I often put them in the barrel of arbitrary things that people think you must like if you like the game.

Rogue flight is not an exercise in nostalgia. People with more knowledge that anime are more knowledgeable can realize the specific effects, but even I can identify a specific vibe that the 80/90 -year -old space animation is sometimes done. Actions and explosions and agile ships perform dramatic, yes, but also a faint melancholy, and exactly a slight touch of the drama. And no one shouted at each other, or stopped in the middle of the battle to cry about their father, or sexually obsessed with the most bland boy in history. As if they knew what was good and what was bad, instead of copying everything wholesale? Weird.
