Marvel Snap was "banned" in the United States with Tiktok, but Devs emphasized it will soon return online.

The Marvel Snap superhero card game has been offered offline in the United States as part of the US government banned policy for Bytedance, Chinese company famous for its own ownership and operation of Tiktok’s brief streaming service.

According to The Verge’s report, mobile players in the US lost access to the Marvel Snap application without a warning last Saturday, January 18. The game was still listed on Steam, but people were reporting that they could not log in.

In short, the US government has a bone to choose with Bytedance because they think that the company’s different online services are a national security risk. Of course, Tiktok is an international mammoth hit, used by 170 million people alone in the United States. The United States Senate and other legislators think that this platform is a means for the Chinese State to harvest detailed US citizens, while using Tiktok’s algorithms to affect their views. Tiktok emphasized that they do not have such an agenda, argue that they only store US user data outside China in Singapore.

In a bill approved by the US Congress in March 2024, the representatives finally ordered bytedance to sell Tiktok to a US -based company this month or lose access to the entire US market. Bytedance refused, took the US government to court and suspended approaching Tiktok after their appeal was rejected by the Senate. As part of that, Marvel Snap – Nuverse Publishing House owned by Bytedance – was given to Cosh. This seems to be a transient interruption, however.

“In a surprise for Monday dinner and our Nuverse Publishing House, Marvel Snap was affected by Tiktok’s destruction at the end of Saturday, January 18,” Read a tweet from this Sunday.

“We worked around the clock to bring Marvel Snap back in the US and hope to return online within 24 hours,” read another tweet from about eight hours ago. “We will update to you once it is backed up. Meanwhile, global players will be able to continue playing without any problems.”

Inexplicable, other Nuverse games like Ragnarok X: 3 -year and Earth anniversary: Deep underground is still available on the United States App Store, according to The Verge. I’m not sure whether Monday or Nuverse will need to argue with the US government to revive Marvel Snap. Perhaps it was an administrative typing effect, accidentally from the Tiktok ban.

Although Tiktok’s stopping does not directly affect the game industry, it is clear that it is important for technology in general and an uncomfortable shot for video game transmitters. Everyone has uploaded their best tiktok clips for other platforms. Fortunately, an agreement seems to have been made with the government and Tiktok is currently in the process of returning online.

This is hopefully you can continue shooting great soon. We have never considered the Steam version, but Matt Cox (RPS in Hoa Binh) is/is a fan.
