Metro 4 will be "sure" shaped by Russia's Ukraine invasion

Metro 2033 has entered fifteen this month, reminding a blog from 4A games to celebrate the past of the FPS horror series while looking forward to the next item. Metro 4 has a name that reappeared in January last year as part of a disclosure to the title of VR Metro Awakening, after a 2023 blog, detailing the studio’s experience under Russian invasion.

“We want to reassure you that the work is continuing for both of our projects, although the missile attacks, air sirens and terrorism still rain in Ukraine,” read new blogs. “These cases are very difficult, the situation is still dangerous and not in our control, but we are currently safely as possible and we want to manage your expectations around the revelation of the next subway title, it will be ready when it is ready and we cannot wait for you to see it.”

Ukraine’s 2022 invasion “changed the way we wanted to tell the story of the next subway game”, 4A continued. “When art becomes a life for many of our developers in Ukraine, we have drawn from that life experience to create a even darker story, those topics in the subway become clear and important.

Se -ri – placed in Moscow subway tunnels and according to the survivors after the global nuclear war – starting life as a novel of Dmitry Glukhovsky, first published online when the author is only eighteen years old, then printed in 2005.

“Metro always has a difficult, political, anti -war story and often emotional,” write 4A Games. “You can be sure that these topics will continue thanks to our continuous cooperation with franchise creators, author and activist Dmitry Glukhovsky.”
