Minecraft is the best -selling game of all time, but it looks quite similar to the entire operation of nearly 14 years. There was a argument that it showed that its age in places, a debate that I would not give because I didn’t think so, but all were the same, as revealed in today’s Minecraft Live, Mojang stated that the sandbox game is receiving a fairly large visual update called Visual Visuals. Now, don’t worry, it will still be all blocks and squares’, but it will change the level of light that looks like.
A blog post explains everything a bit more detailed, with one of the great things is that now there will be volume light. What translates is things like sunlight shines more naturally on different surfaces, even shining through windows and every individual block will create its own shadow. Mob and items will also glow a little more, so it is not just about world light.
This update is coming to the Bedrock version of the previous game, with the post note that it hopes to bring “this graphics regeneration (completely or partly) for as many devices as possible”, although there is not even no release window for it. There is a plan to bring it to the Java version.
I may not have many horses in this race as a person who actually plays Minecraft once in a blue moon (and often quickly put it down because I’m not a creator and I am too stressed from survival), but honestly, I’m not a fan. Minecraft is not a natural -looking game, and this lighting is only one more contact with many realism for my tastes. Besides, this type of light has existed in countless mods, so for many people, it is not even necessary.
