AfterLove EP is a new image novel album and/or Broken Hearts from Indonesian developers Pikselnesia. It is the sad, sleepy story of a musician, Rama, who is trying to bring their lives back together and connect with his former colleagues in Jakarta a year after the death of his girlfriend, Cinta. The complicated factor is that Cinta is not completely disappeared: she is a voice in Rama’s mind, talking to him throughout the plot that lasts 28 days of the game as if sitting next to the player on the other side of the screen.

Afterlove EP was the original brainchild of Mohammad Fahmi, the creator of coffee talked and what happened after that, the dead in 2022. His colleagues at Pikselnesia were calculated with their own sadness when they ended his game. I played afterlove Ep to consider, and while it was a short game – maybe five up to eight o’clock – in which you spend a lot of time listening to conversations, I found it difficult. I myself lost a few people, and this was a rather sad game: discovering it, extracting it, arguing about it, releasing it, or perhaps only existing with it.
As such, I decided to miss the embargo of evaluation this week and give the game time necessary to solve in my mind. But I feel confident to say that there is an interesting storytelling design here, presented in the form of hand -drawn art evoking and accompanied by gently independent rock music. If you like to try it for yourself, you can find EP after steam.
