God, did not do one of these for a while, right? Or maybe one of these. Or these?! The number of silly cards for this regular semi -format is definitely evidence of its long -term appeal, so we have returned in the form of HIVemind to talk about Obsidian’s latest role -playing game. We all have played it, and we all have different opinions about it – things that thrilling conversations are created. BACK!

Nic: James have you found a way to freeze everything?

James: I will explain this quickly so that NIC can complain about having wrong boxes. But yes, I was trapped in an early task that requires me to use ice magic to create frozen platforms to cross the water, another compact system that has not been conveyed or suggested before that time, but used to be communicate and suggestions in next Main mission.

If not, I have a good time? It doesn’t have Skyrim-Tyr’s expansion that I always hope for these types of games, but its world is a pretty game, and it has some quality close methods.

Nic: Look. I feel passionate about those boxes. There are two types of barrels. You can only smash the barrels with a special ‘Smash Me’ symbol on them. I don’t want a “come here” box. Bringing all the joy out of the minor destruction.

However, it is funny because the two qualities you mentioned, James – the world and magic – are things I think are the most powerful factors of people. How do both of you find practical tasks?

Jeremy: I think I like to have given the most anyone here. Mainly due to the world of Eora, as Nic is one of the most powerful elements of the game. It only has a full range of strange trees and mushrooms growing from dried trees and other forestry things, and the overall plot – related to the healing of an island of an eco -apricot epidemic – which I have defeated in half a dozen times with many TTRPG systems (I like Druids).

You will not know that unless you pay attention, but not worthy of all credit for its world. This is an extra part of the pillars of eternal games, the fact that I want Obsidian to advertise more. I recall Redguard, that Elder Scrolls Spin-off since 1998, but even people have the word Elder rolled on the box! Anyway, I have owned Pillars games for many years but still haven’t played them, and the greatest authentication I can give is that it has helped them increase my priority list.

That said, the actual tasks (and many of them, because the type of game expect you to rush into the sub -mission or at least upgrade the equipment to reach the abandoned areas) can feel too much running. It is all better ‘kill x the number of plants, collect x number of magic lilies’, but it is still quite mundane things that often ask to talk to a few NPCs, explore a dungeon, can fight a boss. In other words, there is no 3 -level wizarding article. This mundanity is definitely disguised in a beautiful world of luck enough to be deeply deeply deeply accommodated by two CRPGs, but it is still there.

James: I think – and is said to be not as far as you two – a lot of tasks with interesting enough turns, or at least conclude with a silly change, that they feel like they deserve to do even if they are not interesting/surprising/silly in the structural sense. Of course, the specific examples will be spoilery, but even if the parrot, please clean my house, you can get out of the instructions and think of a pretty interesting story for itself.

However, yes, in the end, it plays like an ARPG of the first person, the first person: Your main means to interact with the world is to bring low magic into its residents, with pure or stealthy approaches. It is not an incorrect way to make an interesting adventure, but it will probably require some management expectations that you like to play a role in your role -playing games.

Jeremy: Therefore, I managed to do a little bit of words and stealth, although they are definitely not the easiest approach to do. Going out of the scratch through diplomacy Seemingly It can be done, but I am not sure if there is a skill testing system taking place under the hood or if it is simply the case of choosing the right dialogue option. Every time I try to use words to keep the big bruises in the rough area of the town hitting my head, it ended in failure, for example. But I was able to stealthily enter a large Delemgan (Dryads) area by hiding in high grass and against Shroom Mook occasionally for a killer immediately, so that’s it.

However, low magic, certainly the way to go. There is a speed and aggression for the first magic casting of the first person reminds me of the monks or hexen in its best moments, accomplished with you see your character’s hand/chopstick floating floating in front of you. .

That said, if you Are not Playing like a witch – or at least a versatile with a series of magic – lizards fighting with a mace repeatedly probably became dull quickly. I definitely emphasize investing in magic with this person, Folks. Attractive game 100 times if you do.

James: In fact, I hope Nic will explain the comparison of boomer shooters. Mostly because in that meeting, I was distracted by using people in the hands of people on my second screen.

Nic: Therefore, I think I have the tradition of linking the contenteon crawling in a role -playing game with quite intentional and methodical discovery, but Cowowed’s Dungeon feels designed in a way to encourage motivation. Many Vault and dance. Many secrets. Lots of fighting. It creates a real flow, combined with magic in the first person, placing me more in the mind of a traditional FPS. In addition, they feel really manual, prison. Closer to what I expect for an action game rather than a role -playing game.

I am very happy that both of you like it. I think a lot of my disappointment comes from a place where I can find many interesting offers elsewhere. But the unique observations – the things I am there – just feel unwavering or not so strong. However, I will say, in terms of building the world, it is clear that I love the visual design of the world and you really cannot have that without building a strong world to support it. Therefore, I will not say “text is bad” because it is clearly its part, and there is a powerful history there from pillars like Jeremy mentioned. I was never excited to talk to anyone, nor did I feel able to express myself in the tasks or dialogue as I like. One of you have a favorite mission so far?

Jeremy: To be honest, I don’t, and this is capable of proving the point that we have given about how to search is not necessarily a strong fit here-it is a fast-paced motion, environmental exploration, spelling and interacting every minute with a fictional world that has a lot of time to create design. I accidentally sold my body to science at an Enead Earnant farm during a mission, and that was quite neat.

At the end of the day, I felt that it would be something of a sleeper. I don’t know if it will do like Obsidian and Microsoft Hope, but I think those who like it (this include myself) will sing its compliments for a while. It is difficult to know if we will see a two recognized and I am not sure if it is better than the recent Obsidian services, because I have ignored the outside worlds. . If there was no pillar of Eternity 3, I think the world fans will be satisfied with what is displayed here.

James: It is fun if Obsidian becomes this Bethesda 2.0 studio by alternating between the sequels of Worlds and Outer Worlds for a decade. Talking about that, this does not feel cramped like the outside world, and its actions are a bit more satisfied (once again, as long as you are a witch – melee fighting that feels like you are playing a Plexiglass box containing each enemy, not the enemy itself). Even so, we have to agree with Nic about the conversation, lacking someone I don’t know, vivid? Obsidian scenarios often have. Tow is also not packaged with memorable debates, but at least it has some good jokes.

Nic: There is really at least one really good joke in Cowowed, but I will not ruin it.

James: Is this a barrel that can’t be helped to get the Smash Me symbol, drawn on it?

Nic: That is that Exactly Genre of jokes, really.
