Unlike many teams I imagine, my opinion is this: I think the year is quite intermediate for the games. Or at least, it is intermediaries for my personal preferences, which is quite unreliable at the best time. Most of my best options have put it on the appropriate calendar, but a couple doesn’t. A I did not even play properly until the voting, and the other? The other was a flawed option, but one thing that I could not stop thinking.

Windblown is an early access Roguelike that I think it looks a bit intermediate when it was revealed for the first time. After that, I gave it a whirlpool and I was completely proven, completely wrong. It feels great, is smart, and you can play it with two friends for some crazy co-op capers. It was ashamed that no one really talked about it, so I’m here to overcome that.

As a cute animal (Axolotl, Bat, Lizard, Hamster, a person I forgot), you have to jump into a great magic gun and shoot yourself into a big tornado. It was in this tornado that a series of increasingly difficult stages were conveniently set, changing from mushroom kingdoms to rust mouse towns and rusted mechas, all of which were huge pieces of rocks. You are fighting them, gradually becoming stronger when you go. Die and you will return to base with some currencies that you can use to permanently improve your statistics or unlock great things for future running.

You may have heard all these roguelikey things before, but I said that Windblown set a few things. The dash is sublime – very flexible, very fast, very amazing. We are like. Fight feel strong, encourage you to swap between your two weapons and the “Slam The Stwap Node” windows that allow you to draw some great combos that apply bleeding or activate special movements. Weapons? Good. Power? Solids. All are thought carefully, with music much more difficult than it needed.

And to be honest, I like the truth that it is cooperation. It is rare for you to play a Roguelike game like this with a friend and it manages it well. I played with Liam (RPS in peace) and we have never been really caught or confused by each other’s work. One thing I will say: Lobbing in Co-op is a little difficult (for example, it is not clear who can see who is a loot, such as). However, this is a small clamp, because Windblown really feels like it turns into a quite special thing.

Right now I am listening to “1 hour of relaxing music from Shin Chan: Shiro and Town Than” on YouTube. It shows Shin Chan, a mischievous child fishing in a quiet stream, when his pet dog waved his tail and scratched his ears. The music is wonderful and flashy, with a lush and green context – just a slice of Akita’s beautiful rural area in North Japan. I saw it really brought me back to the summer when I was young and I received all my nostalgia and affection. To be honest, it doesn’t help me to write this.

However, we have to persevere through emotions, because this is why it is in my choice box from the beginning. The tissue of the town is incorrect for me, in which it is a collection where you go to a great town and collect bugs and fish and 99.9% of your tasks are related to collecting more materials. You do this every day (it’s not like Animal Crossing, at that time stopping when you leave the game) and it may feel like you are skipping all the loveliness to support a path to fill your backpack as quickly as possible.

Although playing the real game is not for me, I think it is a great space to survive and it contains a lovely message (even if Shin Chan is a threat). Akita is presented through beautiful, dreamy motifs. Rice wings are lit by the sparkling of fireflies. The reflection of the effervescent stream under a strange path. The frantic sound of the cicada emphasizes everything. Throughout the story, the people of the town have made young people leave for bigger opportunities in the city, when they sit in a hot bath or chat on the mountain roads.

The theme of the Japanese rural area is forgotten and it should not. It is all marked by the fact that when you collect and collect all these materials, the town is sick, forgotten to revive and become a center of real happiness and industry. The game itself is a message for the next generation, and for anyone, really: also have the opportunity in the countryside. People who are better than mental transactions are provided by Corpos in gray cities. Those who can bring a richer life, a life marked by the community and the crystal blue sky.
