Assassin Creed Ubisoft publishers are making another dismissal round as part of the broader efforts to convince their investors to stop screaming at them. They are allowed 185 people to go through their European activities and will close Ubisoft Leamington based in the United Kingdom, who have recent projects including the development of wars between wars outside the law and skull and bone. All this is less than two months after throwing off hundreds of people working on the free Xdefiant shooter.
“As part of our continuous efforts to prioritize projects and reduce costs to ensure long -term stability at Ubisoft, we have announced targeted restructuring at Ubisoft Düsseldorf, Ubisoft Stockholm and Ubisoft Reflection and the permanent closing of Ubisoft’s website.” Unfortunately, this will affect 185 employees. We are very grateful for their contributions and commit to support them through this transition. ”
Ubisoft is currently in the strait is quite catastrophic. Their stock price dropped sharply last year, partly thanks to the mixed reactions to the wars between stars. Earlier this month, their executive committee announced that they not only delay Assassin’s darkness to increase their chances, but also “[appointing] Leading advisors to review and pursue various strategic options and conversion options to extract the best value to stakeholders. ”
Bloomberg stated that Bloomberg that Guillemot Brothers and Chinese Publishing House Tencent – both sides involved in minority – are trying to find a new joint venture of which type is made up of the assets of Ubisoft Company.
Ubisoft Leamington was once FreestyleGames, founded in 2002 by developers of Codemasters and Codemasters before. They made the B-Boy SIM dancing for PSP. Activision bought them in 2008 and put them into different music games, including DJ Hero that was highly appreciated in 2009 and Guitar Hero Live in 2015.
Other Ubisoft developers honored the group on social media, including the report of the Tom Clancy Lauren Stone. “If you like classified tasks, the Leamington Spa group has led that feature,” she wrote. “It’s fun to work with them and I consider this a big loss. They are one of my favorite collaborators. I hope they will find a safe harbor soon to set anchor.”
Good luck to everyone affected by all of this, in Leamington, Newcastle, Düsseldorf, Stockholm and other places.
