Xbox accidentally displays a steam filter in the UI update possible, immediately eliminating any evidence of its error

Xbox shared a blog post today, mostly just a series of congratulatory waffles about playing games that you own anywhere, and most, it is not very interesting. There is a remarkable thing about it has been scrubbed from the article: The image of a series of devices you can play the Xbox game with some new user interfaces, and oh, you consider that, one of the filters for your game library is for Steam. Now is not interesting?

This has been really noticed by The Verge, who contacted Microsoft about it, except for communication efforts, making the technology company clearly deleted the image from the post. As Verge has shown, the original image refers to Steam is almost certainly just a simulation, you can see that two of the filters listed both say “owned”, so if Microsoft performs this UI on Xbox and its different Xbox applications, it may not be identical to each other.

That does not mean Steam’s consistent is also a mistake. Verge claims that sources are familiar with Microsoft plans that they are currently working on an update for the Xbox application that displays any game you have installed on your PC. This will obviously include Steam and Epic Games Store and your games will be labeled in the application.

These plans for an Xbox application update are clearly quite early, so once again, this feature may not be released. Last year, the head of the Xbox Phil Spencer said in an interview with Polygon that he was interested in seeing the store’s façade like Itch.io and Epic Games Store on Xbox, so this was probably an initial effort to do this.
